# How to get your Merchant Center account reinstated Fix first, then ask once

Getting a suspended Merchant Center account reinstated comes down to one thing: Google has to see that the problem is fixed everywhere, not just on the page you noticed. Here's the order that gives you the best chance, and the mistakes that make it harder.

Merchant Center guide · updated 5 November 2026 · 6 minute read

## The short version

- Only Google can reinstate an account, and it does so after a review shows the issue is fixed.
- Find the exact policy first: in Merchant Center go to Products, Needs attention, View setup and policy issues.
- Fix the whole site and your product data before asking. Partial fixes are the most common reason a review is turned down.
- Request one review and wait. Google says reviews can take up to 7 business days, and repeated unsuccessful reviews can lead to cool-downs.

## Key numbers

- **Up to 7**: business days for a review, Google says
- **24 hours**: for approved products to show again
- **1**: well-prepared review beats several rushed ones

## What reinstatement means

Reinstatement means Google lifts the suspension after reviewing your account. Nobody outside Google can reinstate an account for you, and no tool or service can promise it. What you control is how ready your site and product data are when Google looks again.

Google says approved products can show again within 24 hours of a successful review. If the review isn't approved, the account stays suspended and you'll need to fix more before asking again.

## The order that works

1. **Find the exact issue.** In Merchant Center, go to Products, open Needs attention and select View setup and policy issues. Note the policy name and the date. If it says misrepresentation, read our [misrepresentation guide](https://www.certanza.app/guides/merchant-center-misrepresentation).
2. **Check every page a reviewer may visit.** Homepage, About, Contact, returns, delivery, privacy, terms, a handful of product pages and the checkout. A [free scan](https://www.certanza.app/) shows your score and your most serious problem; the full report lists every issue with the page and wording it came from.
3. **Fix business details and policies.** Business name, address, email and phone where shoppers can find them. Returns, delivery, privacy and terms filled in with real details, agreeing with each other and with your FAQ.
4. **Fix your product data.** Prices, stock, delivery costs and times in Merchant Center must match your website. Remove or correct anything that makes claims you can't back up.
5. **Check the account settings.** Website verified and claimed, business information complete, and shipping and returns settings that match the site.
6. **Request one review.** Choose "I fixed the issue" and request a review. Then wait for the result rather than requesting again.

> **Don't open a new account.** Google advises against it. A new account for the same business is likely to be suspended too, and using new accounts to get round a suspension falls under its abuse of the network policy.

## Why reviews get turned down

- The fix was made on one page but the same problem is still on others, such as delivery times in the FAQ.
- The website changed but the product data didn't, so prices or stock still don't match.
- Business details were added in a place reviewers don't look, like only at checkout.
- The review was requested before Google could see the changes.

If a review isn't approved, read the issue details again under Needs attention before trying anything else. Our guide to a [rejected review](https://www.certanza.app/guides/merchant-center-review-rejected) explains cool-downs and what to check.

## Your reinstatement checklist

- [ ] I've written down the exact policy named under Needs attention
- [ ] Contact page shows business name, address, phone and email
- [ ] Returns, delivery, privacy and terms are complete and agree with each other
- [ ] Delivery costs and times are shown before checkout
- [ ] Prices and stock match between the website and Merchant Center
- [ ] Product pages make no claims I can't back up
- [ ] Checkout works on https with a normal payment method
- [ ] Website is verified and claimed in Merchant Center
- [ ] I've kept a dated list of every change
- [ ] I'm requesting one review, not several

## Common questions

### How long does Merchant Center reinstatement take?

Google says a review can take up to 7 business days, and approved products can show again within 24 hours of approval. The time before that depends on how long the fixes take you.

### Can anyone guarantee my account will be reinstated?

No. Only Google decides. Be wary of any service that promises reinstatement. What helps is fixing every issue before you request a review.

### How many times can I request a review?

Google doesn't publish a fixed number, but says there may be a limit depending on the issue, and repeated unsuccessful reviews can lead to longer cool-downs. Fewer, well-prepared requests work better.

### Should I write an appeal letter?

Merchant Center reviews are usually requested with a button rather than a letter, but some forms let you add details. Our appeal letter examples guide shows what to include and what to leave out.
